  • Safe Swimming Saves Lives

    To help children learn about what to do in an emergency &give parents steps to keep their kids safe, the Y is offering the Austin Martiny Memorial Swimmer Safety Day on June 8. This free community event was created in memory of 6 year old Austin Martiny.

  • Senior Olympics 2013

    Come join us for the 25th Annual St. Clair County Senior Olympics. The day will be filled with fun, fitness and friendly competition. Games will take place at the YMCA and will be played rain or shine. This event is open for all Olympiads 55 and older who are up for fun and exciting competition.

    The Otters earned 17 medals, included 12 first place trophies at the 8 & under State Tournament in Grand Rapids! Congratulations to Coach Kyle and team members Patrick Barna, Gavin Collins, Ryan Granger, Gabrielle Jones, Christopher Leuciuc, Ryan Mayer, Avery McElroy, Chloe McKenzie, Rachel McKenzie, Sophia Moore, Sawyer Schnackenberg & Peter Senkmajer.

    In addition to awarding a grant to help fund Homework, Food & Fun, Cargill brought math and science to life for students enrolled in the program. Cargill account manager and HFF volunteer tutor Kate Garfield along with engineers Mohamoud (Mo) Abbas and David VandeWalle engaged students in an interactive demonstration showing how salt is made and marketed. Thank you Cargill for helping kids succeed!

  • Lifeguarding – A Rewarding Career That Is Always In Demand

    The Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course will be offered at the Y on December 13 - 16. Through videos, group discussion, hands-on practice, you’ll learn patron rescue and surveillance skills, first aid and CPR/AED. The course is open to the community and offers an opportunity to learn a rewarding job skill, that’s always in demand.
