  • Summer break is a perfect time to work on your game. Basketball camp starts June 20 and runs through the 24 from 5:00 - 6:30 PM. Cost is $20.00 for YMCA members and $40.00 for community members. Contact the Wellness Center to register today.

  • Join us for another year of swimming, bowling and card playing fun! The Senior Summer Games are back. This event is a great kickoff to the Best.Summer.Ever here at the YMCA. Register today at the Welcome Center. If you are not eligible to participate volunteer your talents.   • May is Arthritis Awareness Month, and we’re on a mission to spread awareness about the seriousness of arthritis! Because it's often an invisible disease, people in our community face the tremendous challenge of getting people to understand the severity of their symptoms and the struggles they face every single day.   • Trainer Games

    Come out and support your favorite trainer at the YMCA first Trainer Games Event.

    Trainer Games is not your typical fitness event; it incorporates teamwork, training and tenacity. Designed to be challenging and fun, teams will compete in a variety of games to test their strength, teamwork and training. Join us this Sunday, May 15th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

  • Each May, on a designated date and time, millions of school children all over the globe exercise simultaneously in a symbolic gesture of fitness. Today the children in Child Care participated in the 28th annual Project ACES event.

  • The Port Huron Area School District is the largest district in the Blue Water Area but it receives the lowest amount of funding from the people it serves. The most important question is “is it worth the cost?” The Board of Directors of the YMCA voted to endorse the proposal and encourages a yes vote on May 3rd.

  • “WOW” Kids make a “Wow” world! Join us April 30 for Healthy Kids Day! Stop by for lots of FREE activities from 10 am - 1 pm. Activities include Camp Wanacombak, floor hockey, local vendors and more!

  • Healthy Kids Day 2016

    Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow. But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to gain weight and fall behind in studies. On April 30th, the Y will celebrate Healthy Kids Day®, our national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids.

  • Tryouts for the Boys AAU Travel Team, the Timberwolves, will be Tuesday, April 12 at 4:30 PM. It will also be a great opportunity to meet the team's head coach, Richard Field. Contact Calvin Bassil, calvin@bluewaterymca.com for more information.

  • Step by step, day after day, you walk to make progress. Every day we take thousands of steps to get where we need to go. Now we can take steps toward a healthier lifestyle and support the American Heart Association. Today, Wednesday April 6th, the YMCA of the Blue Water Area joins the American Heart Association in celebrating National Walking Day. It's a day to challenge ourselves and our nation to get heart healthy and fit.

  • DEADLINE EXTENDED! Get your friends, family or co-workers to form a team and sign up today. The 2016 Walking Club will kick off on April 6 - National Walking Day. Each walking group must have at least 5 to 10 participants and must walk a minimum of 30 minutes three to five days a week for 6 to 8 weeks. All participants will receive health information on the benefits of walking as well as information on events in our area via email. Following completion of the 8 weeks of walking all participants will receive a free Family Day Pass at the Y.

    Watch the Port Huron Prowlers take on the Danbury Titans tomorrow, Thursday February 18th at McMorran Arena. Tomorrow is Y Night!! Show your Y membership card at McMorran and get into the game for just a $1.00. We will see you there!

  • Wellness Works

    You're not alone when planning your fitness goals. Wellness Works is a twelve week customized wellness program that includes fitness analysis, fitness coaching, nutrition counseling and continuing education, and weekly communication with a Wellness Coach - all tailored to meet your needs. It's an opportunity to design a blueprint for balanced living for any Y member ages 13 and up. Wellness Works is included om your membership with no additional fees.   • Family Pool Party

    Grab your grass skirt and dance the hula! Join us Friday, January, 29th at the Y for a fun family event! This Luau theme party is sure to be a blast! Beach balls and floaties provided - please do not bring any from home. There will be music, water slides and the lazy river!

  • Take your skills to the next level with the Y’s AAU Travel Basketball program! This program concentrates on improving your child’s ability in all areas of the game including dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defense, and basketball IQ. The fee includes jersey, shorts, gym fees, and tournament/league fees.

  • The Winter I Session begins on Monday, January 4 , information is online and registration is now open for your favorite classes! Visit our program pages to learn about our offerings, new programs and sport camps! Keep in mind that the deadline for all swim and sports registrations for Winter I is Wednesday, December 30 so sign up today!

  • Donate during the #GivingTuesday campaign and your gift will be doubled. Several Y members have joined together to offer a member-to-member challenge. For every dollar you donate now through December 1st, they’ll match your gift, no matter how big or small, to a total of $12,500 - or $25,000 for the Y. Give online or download a donation form today!

  • There's still time to sign up for the Jingle Bell Run! Register for the 2K, 5K, or 10K today! The 2015 Jingle Bell run will be held on Saturday, December 5, starting at 9:00 AM - put on your holiday best and join us!

  • When school is out, camp is in at the Y! Join us during school holidays and snow days for fun games and activities that are sure to keep kids having fun and learning along the way. They'll have the opportunity to make new friends and engage in indoor and outdoor activities in a safe, positive environment.

    Thanksgiving Holiday Camp will be held on Wednesday, November 25 and Friday, November 27. Holiday Camp and Snow Fun Days are open to students kindergarten through 6th grade and you do not need to be a member of the Y to enjoy camp.

  • KIDS NIGHT OUT

    Kids under 12 are invited to Kids Night Out at the Y on Friday, November 20 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Make new friends while playing games, making crafts and participating in fun age-appropriate activities. Everyone receives a light snack and swim time is included for all school age children. The cost is just $10 for Y members and $20 for the community. Have a great time at Kids Night Out. Sign up today and have the time of your life!

  • Honoring Veterans

    Veterans Day is a time when we honor those who have served in the United States Military and their families. On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, take a moment to express gratitude to those who have made great sacrifices to preserve our freedom.

    In honor of Veterans Day, the YMCA Active Older Adults (AOA) will be meeting at the Lakeside Cemetery at 11:00 AM for a brief memorial service. They will meet for lunch at Big Boy after the service. Guests pay for their own lunch and everyone is welcome.

  • Fall II Session Starts October 26

    The Fall II Session begins on Monday, October 26, so sign up now for your favorite classes! Keep in mind that the deadline for all swim and sports registrations for Fall II is Wednesday, October 21. Sign up today!

  • Fall is amazing at the Y! New classes... New faces... Familiar friends... Fantastic staff and volunteers! Try one of our new classes like Barre Power or Tap Cardio. Sign your kids up for swim lessons. Check out our Active Older Adults program. There's something for everyone at the Y!

    The Fall II Session is only a few days away, so sign up for classes today. If you're taking a class currently and you want to continue, you can sign up for the next session right in class! Ask your instructor for details.

  • The YMCA of the Blue Water Area is collecting gently used children's clothing for Kids In Distress (K.I.D.S) until Friday, October 9. If you have kids clothing that is still in great condition, please feel free to drop it off in the collection box at the Welcome Center today. We will deliver all donations to K.I.D.S.   • Have you always wanted to run a 5K but don't know how to get ready? Join our Couch to 5K Program beginning on October 6 and work your way up to a 5K in just two months - Right in time for the 2015 Jingle Bell Run!

    Reminder: The YMCA of the Blue Water Area will be closed on Monday, September 7th, to allow our staff and volunteers to celebrate Labor Day with family and friends.

  • This Saturday, August 22nd from 12:00 - 2:00 PM here at the Y. Come get muddy at the Y! Puddle Paw is a kid’s outdoor obstacle course. This fun and energetic event, specifically designed for youth, includes a slip and slide, run, mud pits, and lots of other fun obstacles. Kids will be competing against children of their own age group.
