  • It is never to late to start your fitness journey, join us to learn about all the wonderful opportunities the YMCA has to offer for staying fit on land and in the water. Event will be held Friday, September 23rd from 9:00 AM - Noon. Already a YMCA regular, bring a friend to the event and show them all the fun you can have as you Discover Your Y!

  • Donate a piece of new or gently used school clothing for a child or teen during the month of September and you will receive a $10 class voucher. You’ll be helping kids get ready for school and we’ll be helping you get healthy.

    Clean out those closets or make a purchase and drop the clothing off at the Y. All clothing items will be given to Kids in Distress Services, Inc. KIDS is a 501(c)3 organization that provides clothing, toiletries and school supplies to children in need.

    The following items are most needed, but all donations will be appreciated:
    Socks & underwear (NEW ONLY)
    Jeans - especially boys size 4 - 8
    Pajamas - all sizes from infant up
    Shoes - all sizes - new or very gently used

  • The Porpoise Club is an introduction to competitive swimming for 6 to 18 year olds, providing the
    experience of being part of a team and their practices. Porpoise club focuses on competitive skills without the full commitment of a
    competitive swim team. It will help members prepare for future swim team participation.

  • First Place 4 Health is a Bible-based program that focuses on health and total well-being. Participants will learn how to make positive changes in the way they nourish and recharge their body with food and exercise. Daily Bible studies will be used to address their daily choices.

    An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, September 1st at 6:00 PM. Stop by to learn about the program, get your questions answered and register for the fall session.

  • MARK YOUR CALENDARS
    MUTT-STER MASH REGISTRATION HAS BEGUN
    Come join us for our annual Mutt-ster Mash 5K & 2K Run/Walk here at the YMCA. The event will take place October 15, 2016 Beginning at 9:00 AM. Each participant will receive a Doggy Bag consisting of a race t-shirt, dog tag for their K9, and information regarding partnering organizations. We will also be offering refreshments and prizes for various categories at the event (I.E. Best Dressed Duo).
    $20 - Early Registration before October 2nd
    $30 - Starting October 3rd

  • Looking for a way to spend extra time with your little girl. Join us for the YMCA Daddy Daughter Dance. September 24.

  • The YMCA staff is rocking out at the Back Pack Giveaway! Bust a move with Zumba and Hip Hop Cardio dances or try your shot at our youth sports sampler! Our staff is keeping the kids busy during the long wait lines.

  • Trainer Games

    Trainer Games is this Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Come out and support your favorite trainer as their team competes for the gold!

  • Classes at the Y Fort Gratiot site are running during maintenance week!

  • The Board of Directors of the Y has endorsed this bond and is encouraging everyone to get out and vote "Yes!" on August 2nd and support this vital investment in our schools.

  • Pop Up Farmer's Market July 20 - October 26. What a great way to add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet!

  • Christmas in July

    Mixed Up Holidays week has spilled over from Camp Wanacombak. Christmas has come early for our group exercise program. 12 new spin bikes were delivered today! The Intervalocity class had the opportunity to try them out during today's class.

  • Closed 4th of July

    Reminder: We will be closed on Monday July 4th to allow our staff and volunteers to celebrate with family and friends. Have a safe and happy holiday.

  • Meet Up and Eat Up
    The YMCA will be a host site for the Meet Up and Eat Up program. Facilitated by the Port Huron Area School District in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Education, The Summer Food Service Program was created to ensure that children in lower-income areas could continue to receive nutritious meals during long school vacations, when they do not have access to the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Programs. Monday - Friday, June 20th - September 2nd
    Time: 8-8:30 AM and 12-12:30 PM
    Age: 18 and Under
    Fee: Free
    Location: Campbell Room YMCA

  • Summer break is a perfect time to work on your game. Basketball camp starts June 20 and runs through the 24 from 5:00 - 6:30 PM. Cost is $20.00 for YMCA members and $40.00 for community members. Contact the Wellness Center to register today.

  • Join us for another year of swimming, bowling and card playing fun! The Senior Summer Games are back. This event is a great kickoff to the Best.Summer.Ever here at the YMCA.   • May is Arthritis Awareness Month, and we’re on a mission to spread awareness about the seriousness of arthritis! Because it's often an invisible disease, people in our community face the tremendous challenge of getting people to understand the severity of their symptoms and the struggles they face every single day.   • Trainer Games

    Come out and support your favorite trainer at the YMCA first Trainer Games Event.

    Trainer Games is not your typical fitness event; it incorporates teamwork, training and tenacity. Designed to be challenging and fun, teams will compete in a variety of games to test their strength, teamwork and training. Join us this Sunday, May 15th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

  • Each May, on a designated date and time, millions of school children all over the globe exercise simultaneously in a symbolic gesture of fitness. Today the children in Child Care participated in the 28th annual Project ACES event.

  • The Port Huron Area School District is the largest district in the Blue Water Area but it receives the lowest amount of funding from the people it serves. The most important question is “is it worth the cost?” The Board of Directors of the YMCA voted to endorse the proposal and encourages a yes vote on May 3rd.

  • “WOW” Kids make a “Wow” world! Join us April 30 for Healthy Kids Day! Stop by for lots of FREE activities from 10 am - 1 pm. Activities include Camp Wanacombak, floor hockey, local vendors and more!

  • Healthy Kids Day 2016

    Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow. But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to gain weight and fall behind in studies. On April 30th, the Y will celebrate Healthy Kids Day®, our national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids.

  • Tryouts for the Boys AAU Travel Team, the Timberwolves, will be Tuesday, April 12 at 4:30 PM. It will also be a great opportunity to meet the team's head coach, Richard Field. Contact Calvin Bassil, calvin@bluewaterymca.com for more information.

  • Step by step, day after day, you walk to make progress. Every day we take thousands of steps to get where we need to go. Now we can take steps toward a healthier lifestyle and support the American Heart Association. Today, Wednesday April 6th, the YMCA of the Blue Water Area joins the American Heart Association in celebrating National Walking Day. It's a day to challenge ourselves and our nation to get heart healthy and fit.

  • DEADLINE EXTENDED! Get your friends, family or co-workers to form a team and sign up today. The 2016 Walking Club will kick off on April 6 - National Walking Day. Each walking group must have at least 5 to 10 participants and must walk a minimum of 30 minutes three to five days a week for 6 to 8 weeks. All participants will receive health information on the benefits of walking as well as information on events in our area via email. Following completion of the 8 weeks of walking all participants will receive a free Family Day Pass at the Y.

    You're not alone when planning your fitness goals. Wellness Works is a twelve week customized wellness program that includes fitness analysis, fitness coaching, nutrition counseling and continuing education, and weekly communication with a Wellness Coach - all tailored to meet your needs. It's an opportunity to design a blueprint for balanced living for any Y member ages 13 and up. Wellness Works is included om your membership with no additional fees.   • Take your skills to the next level with the Y’s AAU Travel Basketball program! This program concentrates on improving your child’s ability in all areas of the game including dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defense, and basketball IQ. The fee includes jersey, shorts, gym fees, and tournament/league fees.

Keep in mind that the deadline for all swim and sports registrations for Winter I is Wednesday, December 30 so sign up today!

  • Donate during the #GivingTuesday campaign and your gift will be doubled. Several Y members have joined together to offer a member-to-member challenge. For every dollar you donate now through December 1st, they’ll match your gift, no matter how big or small, to a total of $12,500 - or $25,000 for the Y.   • When school is out, camp is in at the Y! Join us during school holidays and snow days for fun games and activities that are sure to keep kids having fun and learning along the way. They'll have the opportunity to make new friends and engage in indoor and outdoor activities in a safe, positive environment.

    Thanksgiving Holiday Camp will be held on Wednesday, November 25 and Friday, November 27. Holiday Camp and Snow Fun Days are open to students kindergarten through 6th grade and you do not need to be a member of the Y to enjoy camp.
