  • Happy 4th of July

    Reminder: The YMCA of the Blue Water Area will be closed on Saturday, July 4th, to allow our members, guests, staff and volunteers the opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. Have a wonderful 4th of July!

  • Summer Fun!

    June 29 - July 3 Celebrate - Party Time! Hop the Gap Games as well as music and a BBQ on Friday. Members are invited to a BBQ on the front lawn on Friday - don't forget to wear your Red, White and Blue!
    July 6 - 10 Shooting for the Stars - It’s Sci-Fi Week! Popcorn and movie Friday and don’t forget to dress up as your favorite Star Wars character!
    July 13 - 17 Superheroes - Who’s YOUR hero? We’ll find out this week because we will have slips at the Welcome Center for members, volunteers and staff to tell us their superhero and why they are so important, and we will be posting them throughout the Y. On Friday, dress up as your favorite superhero.
    July 20 - 24 Color Wars - We’ll be hosting family color wars this week so be ready to declare your favorite color.
    July 27 - 31 Construction - It’s Maintenance Week and we are in heading into the “Caution: Y Fun Zone.” This week it is all about volunteering with two cookouts - one on Tuesday and one on Friday.
    August 3 - 7 Artful Antics - Studio 1219 and some college are students will be invited to the Y and we will display art projects from children as well as featuring crafts in the building.
    August 10 - 14 Mystery Week - We are organizing a Scavenger Hunt for members, volunteers and staff. A fun and mysterious week for sure!
    August 17 - 21 Let It Snow - On Friday we will have Christmas music and Santa hats as well as holiday decorations and snow cones. This week will also kick off our annual KIDS campaign.
    August 24 - 28 Movin’ and Groovin’ - Everything from the pool party to the music will be all about the 60’s. Time to get your groove on! August 31 - Sept 4 Best of the Best - Wrapping up our summer of Fun Fridays and special events, we will post photos of some of the events of the summer and relive the Best Summer Ever!

  • Meet Up and Eat Up

    Summer Meal Program - The YMCA is partnering with the Port Huron Area School District to provide meals for children throughout the Blue Water Area this summer.   • Walk For Summer Reading

    Congratulations to the 24 elementary schools that participated and thank you to the donors that provided more than $22,000 for kids to walk to earn books to read this summer.     Reminder: The YMCA of the Blue Water Area will be closed on Monday, May 25th, to allow our staff and volunteers to celebrate with family and friends.

    Schools Out! Join us on June 12th for our End of School Holiday Camp ~ School-aged children kindergarten through 6th grade have the opportunity to make new friends and engage in indoor and outdoor activities in a safe, positive environment.

  • Free Sports Physicals

    It's that time! Free athlete physicals will be available for PHHS and PHN students for the 2015-26 school year. Don't forget that all student athletes must have a sports physical on file prior to the first try-out or practice date.

  • Children's Fun & Fitness Festival

    McLaren Port Huron will host its 26th Annual Children’s Fun & Fitness Festival Saturday, March 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the hospital. This free event gives children the opportunity to become familiar with the hospital environment in a way that is fun and active, get them excited about their health, and promote fitness.

    Registration at the door begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. For more information about the 26th Annual Children’s Fun & Fitness Festival, call HealthAccess at (800) 228-1484, or visit www.mclaren.org/phfun.

    Kindergarten through 6th grade children can join in the fun here at the Y for Snow Camp when school is closed! A full day of activities including swimming, crafts, gym time and snacks are available. Camp starts at 6:30 AM and runs to 6:00 PM.
