CHILDCARE

Since 1977, the YMCA has been helping to meet our community's need for quality child care. The Y's full range of child care programs have expanded to 12 centers serving approximately 550 children per year. By providing child care for children 2 1/2 to 12 years old, the Y is available to meet your changing child care needs.

In YMCA Child Care, children participate in arts and crafts, group games, music, swimming, movies, field trips, snacks, fitness and health. Children are encouraged to grow and learn in an atmosphere of warmth and caring. Parents are invited and encouraged to drop in at any time. When you entrust your children to us, you will have peace of mind knowing that they are well cared for by trained professionals who are sensitive to their needs. Staff is chosen carefully for maturity, understanding of children, and overall personal integrity. A low child/teacher ratio is maintained to insure safety and attention for each child.

Each program is fully licensed by the Family Independence Agency and uses a structured but flexible curriculum to allow for children's individual developmental differences and creativity. YMCA Child Care is available Monday through Friday throughout the year, including school vacations, parent-teacher conferences, snow days and district-wide unscheduled school closings.
