Our Active Older Adult programs are designed to build not just muscles, but the whole person. Whether it’s in the pool, on a walk or at a birthday social, this is the place to meet new friends and stay healthy. At the Y, you’ll find a place to belong, people who care...and fun!

    ARTHRITIS AQUATICS
    This class features a full range of motion exercises performed in the warm water pool for all levels of ability. Increase your fl exibility and build new friendships at this popular aquatic program.

    CURRENT WALK
    Lazy River Current Walk is everything but lazy! Enjoy strength exercises as you walk or jog through the resistance of the current in the lazy river. Join your friends at the Y for a great lower-body/aerobic workout. Water shoes are recommended but not required.

    POWER SPLASH
    This high-intensity water aerobics class is an enjoyable combination of fat-blasting, calorie-burning high energy aerobic and muscle toning exercises that also focuses on core strength, balance, range of motion, flexibility and cardiovascular strength.

    SENIOR SWIM
    Seniors enjoy time in our beautiful 6-lane, 25 yard pool! Relax and swim at your leisure or push yourself to your own personal limit. Our pool is a great place for adults to enjoy exercise and socialize at the same time!

    Feel 20 years younger by joining in this fun program! Exercising in shallow water is a stress-free and safe way to reach your cardiovascular and muscle strengthening goals. You will see an increase in your flexibility while staying healthy and becoming more fit. Aqua shoes are recommended. No swimming ability required.

    PICKLEBALL
    This net court game is a combination of tennis, badminton and paddle ball. The game places emphasis on coordination, control, patience and strategy rather than strength or speed. It is easy to learn and helps eyehand coordination. This game's popularity is growing across the country!

    BODY RECALL
    Lifetime fitness and exercise to affect and benefit your body. You can rediscover lost movement while you improve your circulation. Nonpainful, slow, controlled movements will help you correct your form and posture. This 45 min. program is offered in partnership with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

    BOOT CAMP FOR SENIORS
    A new total body workout that includes cardio, strength, and resistance training. This class offers a low-moderate level of cardio and strength training exercises utilizing light weights, resistance bands, stability balls and body weight exercises. Variations to exercises will be offered to accommodate everyone’s fitness abilities.

    YOGA GENTLE

    We will be making “heirlooms” of recipes. Collect your family members’ favorite recipes (in their own handwriting) along with a picture of the person so you can make a collection of recipes to pass on to the next generation. What a treasure!

    Farkle is a fun and simple dice game that even a novice can pick up
    within minutes. It’s popularity is growing because of it’s simple system
    of rules and high level of enjoyment.
