Couch to 5K
The popular Couch-to-5K program has helped couch potatoes get up off their sofas and onto the roads, turning them into runners in just two months. We will get you off on the right foot by working out 3 times a week, beginning with walking and working up to running three miles or more. Graduation will be the finish line of the Y's Jingle Bell run on December 6. Classes include warm up, core fitness, walking, running, stretching and cooling down. Class registration includes entry into the Leprechaun Loop run - because whatever you are now, you become a runner when you get your first race number. The running portion will be outside so dress appropriately.

Fast, simple, fun and free race series. No timing chips, no safety pins, no pre-registration discount; just racing the way little kids would do it. Line up at 12:10 pm and race to the fi nish line. This cumulative scoring system will award 20 points to the winner each week, 19 points to the 2nd place and so on and so forth.

Do you want to be faster? Join us Tuesday evening for intervals, long & short hills, drills, and speed work. This is not a class for beginners: we'll be running 4 to 6 miles every Tuesday night. Sign up if you're already a runner, already consuming a steady diet of 5K's and want to bring home some hardware from your next one.
