Pre-School Swim Lessons - Ages 3 to 5
These classes are designed for those participants with little or no swimming experience. The children are taught the basic skills that are the building blocks of swimming. Participants will work toward accomplishing kicking, floating and independent swimming.

Pike:  At this level, children can attend classes without their parents. Children will develop safe pool behavior, adjust to the water and develop independent movement in the water. This class is designed for new swimmers, teaching basic paddle stroke and kicking skills, pool safety and comfort in holding their faces in the water while blowing bubbles.

Eel:  This advanced beginner level class reinforces Pike skills. It is for children who are comfortable in the water. They are taught to flutter kick, dive, float and perform the progressive paddle stroke.

Ray:  Children review previous skills, improve stroke skills, build endurance by swimming on their front and back, learn to tread water and perform more progressive diving skills.

Starfish:  Children at this level review previously learned skills and refine their crawl, back strokes, and floating skills. They also learn underwater swimming skills.

Youth Swim Lessons - Ages 6 and up
During these 45 minute classes children practice and build upon skills that were previously taught. These progressive lessons gradually introduce the front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke and diving. To help you choose the correct class for your child, please read the following descriptions and select the class that best describes what your child is ready to learn. If your child is a beginner with few or no water skills, they should be placed in the Polliwog class.

Polliwog:  This is the beginning level for school-age children. It gets children acquainted with the pool, the use of floatation devices, and front and back floating.

Guppy:  In this class children continue to practice and build upon basic skills and now learn how to perform more skills without the aid of a floatation device. They are introduced to the front crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke.

Minnow:  This is the initial intermediate level. Children continue to refine the strokes they have learned as their skills become stronger. Strengthening and conditioning will be a component of this class.

Fish:  At this point, students work to perform the crawl stroke, elementary backstroke, back crawl, and sidestroke. Introduction to the butterfly stroke is also included in this segment.

Flying Fish:  At this advanced level, students work on refining their strokes and increasing their endurance.

Shark:  The students at this level continue to improve their strokes, learn flip turns and racing starts.

Porpoise Club:  This class is designed to keep your advanced swimmer swimming. Endurance, stroke improvement, and water ball are a part of this class.
