Music Makers Guitar, Violin and Drum Program
Music Makers, a non-profit organization, is committed to providing programs that will inspire appreciation for music, promote self-esteem through creative expression and skill development, provide music education and opportunities for positive socialization and team building. Children attend 10 weeks of lessons with their chosen instrument.

Break Dancing Instruction
This class is on Friday nights in the small gym from 6-8pm for ages 8 and up! Instructor Nick Olvera, formerly of Chicago, will work with students to teach the basics of freestyle break dancing, along with some of the harder moves for those that are ready.

Kids Night Out!!!!!
Children ages 5-13 are invited to come to the YMCA for an evening of swimming, sports, games and FUN!! Participants will be supervised by YMCA staff and given a small snack while they enjoy an evening of new friends and new games. Children must bring swimsuit and
towel, and wear clothes to play in.
Dates: Oct. 19, Nov. 16, Dec. 14
Time: 6:30-9:30pm

Speed Stacking
Every student, no matter what their athletic ability, can find success with Speed Stacking! Kids will stack and unstack cups in specific sequences while trying to beat their own time, or each other in relay type activities. Kids develop motor skills, concentration, and get a workout without even realizing it!
Ages: Grades 1 -5 and grades 6 - up
Dates and Times: Mondays, Sept. 10 - Oct 22, 6-6:45pm

Home School Gym and Swim
A great way for home schooled children to get their gym credit during the winter months. We offer instructional gym time and pool during the Fall I, Fall II, Winter, Spring I and Spring II sessions. Proof of the participants age is required. After the first day of each session, parents will not be allowed in the gym during gym time.
Cost: Members - FREE, Nonmembers - 1st child $40, 2nd child $30, 3rd child $20
Home School Parent Time
A great way for home school parents to take advantage of the YMCA facility while their child is participating in the home school program. Parents can use the fitness center the entire time.
Cost: Members - FREE, Nonmembers - $50
Bus with Gus
This favorite program with the kids is available for the
2005-2006 school year. Activities include open swim, gym and a snack. The YMCA provides transportation to and from your child? school. This program runs from September through June with area
schools each participating in a 6-week session. Watch for the flyer at your school or call to get your school involved!

Tae Kwon Do
This Korean martial art is for the whole family, whether you are interested in self-defense, competition, or physical fitness. Each class is specially designed for the appropriate age group. This is a progressive class where individuals are given the opportunity to test for higher ranks and are encouraged to compete at the local, state, regional and national level tournaments. This program is affiliated with Michigan AAU Tae Kwon Do.
Dates: Sept. 12 - Oct. 24 (7 weeks), Nov. 7 - Dec. 19 (7 weeks)

Ages 9 - up: 6:45-8pm

Blue Water Otters Swim Team
Competitive swimming instruction for youth ages 6-18 who can swim one length of the pool. Practices, swim meets, parties, and new friends are all part of the fun. A complete brochure is available at the YMCA. High School students may earn a high school letter.

Fitness For Kids
Build strong kids in a fitness class specifically designed for ages 8-14. Kids will have fun warming up with different activities, train in basic fitness skills including cardiovascular, flexibility and body resistance exercises. The class is geared to keep kids healthy and fit. Our fitness staff will take these kids through a fun workout.
Ages: 8-14
Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30pm-7:15pm
Cost: Members - FREE, Nonmembers - $30
3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
The 2007 3 on 3 Tournament is open to ages 8 and up! Games begin at 8:00am and run until tournament is done. This is a double elimination tournament, limit 4 players per team. Each division is limited to 16 teams, so don't wait to register!
Age Divisions: 8-10, 11-13, 14-16, 17-20, 21-27, 28-up (team in division of oldest player)
Early Registration: Until April 7
Cost: $10/player - shirt guaranteed
Late Registration: Until April 17
Cost: $12/player - shirt not guaranteed
3-Point Contest and Shoot-Out
3-Point Contest: $5/participant ages 8-11 and 12-up will have one minute to shoot 10 shots total from five different spots around the 3-point line.
Shoot-Out: $5/participant will have one minute to make as many shots as they can from different spots on the court. Each spot is worth a certain amount of points.

Y Wee Care
1 1/2 - 3 year olds with a parent, grandparent or adult having fun developing social and language skills through group circle, singing songs and interacting with children. Children develop creative skills and large motor skills through craft projects, games, tumbletown and much more!
Times: Tuesday or Thursday, 9:30-11am
