Fall is the time when the crunchy leaves drift across the road and the faint smell of pumpkin spice drifts through the air. The cool weather sets in and we begin to settle into our classic autumn routines. Whether it’s watching football games, heading out to the pumpkin patch or getting dressed up for Halloween, there are lots of fun, family-friendly activities to do. Of course, one thing you can always do is visit the Y!
Sometimes, we want to get more involved but aren’t quite sure where to start. The options are endless! But, there are plenty of ways to get involved in the Y community. To get you started, we came up with three fun ideas for Fall.
1. Attend the Halloween Pool Party on October 26th
We host free Family Fun Nights on the last Friday of every month. This gives everyone in the community an opportunity to visit the Y, even if they are not a member. This month we are offering a Halloween Pool Party on October 26th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. It's the perfect time to invite a friend to see all that the Y has to offer. Keep in mind that children 12 and under require adult supervision and we ask non-members to bring a photo ID to check in.
2. Volunteer your time
Many nonprofit organizations—both local and national—offer volunteer opportunities. We have a variety of ways that you can help out. To apply to volunteer, you can fill out a Volunteer Application online or stop by the Welcome Center to fill out a paper application.

3. Invite a friend to sign up for a new class
Anyone can sign up for a group exercise class, even if they are not a member. Most adult group fitness classes run for 6 weeks and cost $12.50 per 6-week session. Most of the adult group fitness classes are included with a membership to the Y so check the Fall II schedules and sign up with a friend before Fall II classes begin on October 29th.

October is officially here and there are plenty of ways to get involved at the Y. Try out some of these ideas this month!
