ENSURING A BRIGHTER FUTURE
With so many demands on today's families, parents need all the support they can get. That's why child care at the Y is about more than looking after kids. It's about nurturing their development, by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and building self-reliance through the Y core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
The Y’s Child Development programs are designed to improve educational readiness, engagement and outcomes of the Blue Water Area's children, so that they can pursue the brightest possible future. They're staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other.
We provide infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with a safe and nurturing environment filled with opportunities to grow and explore the world around them with caring professionals in this state-licensed program. Our engaging curriculum helps children reach developmental milestones and prepares them for academic learning.
Our programs, classes and activities are designed to engage children and help them develop the values, skills and confidence they'll need to succeed as adults. Programs like Home School Gym and Swim provide a variety of options to explore and develop the interests and talents of children of all ages.
More than ever, busy parents need support. When parents come to the Y for a class, group activity or workout, their kids need a safe, enriching environment where they can build healthy, trusting relationships with other kids and adults. At Child Watch and Kid Zone, children ages 6 weeks to 11 years old play under the supervision of caring, trained Y staff. At the same time, their parents are able to relax, connect with other Y members and enjoy healthy activities at the Y.
